Cookies

h1 Sunday, November 27th, 2005

So I bought myself some cookie cutters - one gingerbread man and one Christmas Tree. And I made some Christmas tree cookies but the recipe was a little too much like shortbread so it was hard to work with. It kept crumbling when I was rolling it. But they looked and tasted great. I decorated them with a basic icing - with green food colouring - and sprinkles.
I want to make heaps for Christmas so I will keep experimenting until I find a really good cookie dough to use. The problem is that I have lots of great cookie recipes but none are rolling ones - just dropping spoonful type recipes.

My new love …

it is Wasabi peas. If you like up-your-nose heat - then these are for you.
My other new love is Pepsi-max - I fel a little like I have turned to the dark side, however it still has caffeine but no sugar. And doesn’t taste as sweet as diet coke.
So there you go Morgan.
You converted me.

Well, I do have another new love - it is selling things on TradeMe - yay for getting rid of stuff that just sits around collecting dust! And yay for people buying that stuff!!!

Too many bread products

h1 Tuesday, October 25th, 2005

I got a breadmaker off Dylan’s grnadmother and have been using it a lot. I have made white bread, bread rolls, sundried tomato bread and, last night, chocolate bread. Anything is better with chocolate. The first loaf was too dark (on medium) so I have used the lighter setting for the others and this seems to be more to my liking. The sundried tomato bread was a bit of an experiment and turned out a little too bland so that won’t be happening again. The bread rolls are good (baked in the oven) and the chocolate bread is rather delicious!
I have also decided to experiment with the big pile of recipes that I have collected from out of magazines over the years. So it may be an exciting time for Dylan as I don’t know how anything is going to turn out.
